“You can’t outrun your nightmares…
When Ella & her stuffed mouse Winchell become trapped inside her dreams, they unwittingly create an opening between the two worlds. As the darkness of her nightmares begins invading her waking world, Ella and Winchell embark on a journey to find a way out. Forced to cope with her greatest fears, Ella must face what she’s been running from and close the door between the worlds forever.”
Bio
Ryan Fisher is an illustrator, author, cartoonist and graphic designer. A Seattle native, he’s an avid sports fan and music lover.
Ryan got his start in comics nearly a decade ago online with Gin & Comics which closed in 2012. His secon webcomic, Sometime After, released its first paperback volume in 2013. Torchlight Lullaby is his first full-length graphic novel, and a true passion project. After the loss of his step-dad to cancer three years ago, Ryan traversed the many nights of insomnia by creating stories in his head. One of these stories stuck, eventually becoming Torchlight Lullaby.

Press & Reviews
“Imagine this: If you introduce C.S. Lewis’ The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe‘s wardrobed gateway between two worlds with any mythical story of your choice, and then add a dash of Kazu Kibiushi’s Amulet series (particularly focusing on his young, yet forced to face her fears and grow from those experiences heroine) you’ll have a pretty solid idea about what to expect in Torchlight Lullaby.” Dr. Katie Monnin, Associate Professor of Literacy at the University of North Florida Diamond Bookshelf Review by Dr. Katie Monnin
“A book like this comes along once in a generation. It is a book that is great not only for all ages but for those that want to slip into a world we can only recall as children. Yet, the overarching theme of this book will make anyone with a heart beating in their chest be over come with emotion… It is that powerful of a read. I would easily put this book next to Raina Telgemeier’s SMILE, for the powerful effects it has on influencing people’s lives…it is just that good of a book.” Kurt Sasso, TGT Media
“Ryan Fisher definitely has a winner on this one. […] It’s enthralling. Not only will your child want to see what happens next, but you will want to see what happens next.” ComixBrew
“[This is] a story that is age appropriate for children but definitely does not feel like a “child’s book”. It is something that is equally well-read in the hands of an adult as it is a child. That’s an extremely hard balance to strike. […] 10 out of 10. A nearly perfect book.” Dylan Donaldson – Arc Reactions
